Home selling: Playing up the amenities of your home according to the season
Friday, March 9th, 2012Spring might be the busiest season when homeowners put their houses in the market. This is a myth though as people who needs to buy a home will purchase the property any time of the year. In case you sell during the off-peak months, you can emphasize the amenities of your home according to the season.
The market heat up during the summer or spring since it is more convenient to move during these times whatever your preference or reasons for selling are, here are some tips of how you can convince to buy your home by highlighting the best traits of your home:
Spring
- Make sure your yard is in shape. Get your yard as tidy and as attractive as possible if you are selling during spring time. Clear any debris from winter and make it as colorful as you can.
- Spring cleaning. Scrub away and spruce up to impress the buyers.
- Spring scents indoors. Spring is not only about colors but it is also a very fragrant season. Bring some scents inside which will entice moods of the buyers.
Summer
- Provide refreshments. If you are entertaining prospective buyers, make sure you treat them as you would treat people during a party. A pitcher of cold lemonade will help a lot with the negotiations.
- Highlight the outdoors. Summer is the season where the spaces outside your place can shine. Clean the porch, deck, patio, and the outdoor kitchen. If you need to repair or repaint some areas do it before putting the house in the market.
- Play up the swimming pool. If you have a pool, make sure it is free of leaves and other debris. Have a seating area near the pool where you can discuss some business with buyers.
Winter
- Clear the snow. Make sure that you clear stairs and walkways of snow. This will give an impression that you maintain the place well.
- Warm interior. A cozy inside during winter time is a plus point, so start the fire and have some warm drinks ready.
Fall
- Garden. Replace the summer plants with vibrant colored plants to give the garden some color.
- Outside lights. As the season transitions, you might end up touring people around the home as darkness approaches. Make sure that all outdoor lights are working and clean.

You may be thinking, ‘That’s nice, but what about that marvelous ocean view in California?’ Good news–these apartments are stationed on an Island, immersed in water. You can’t get more oceanic than that.
