Tamarindo Costa Rican Villa

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I promise to God I won’t turn this blog into a “show real estate listings” site but I found this villa in Tamarindo, Costa Rica on Costa Rica Real Estate and I’m super-impressed with the value for money this appears to be.

The price tag is just under $675,000 and for a beach view, 3 bad 3 bedder with an awesome view and an excellent pool that’s just no money…

Beautiful photos below.

Why do I need liability insurance in my homeowners insurance?

Friday, August 29th, 2008

The standard homeowner’s policy includes liability protection which safeguards you against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage that you, a member of your family or a pet has caused. For example, if your child or pet tears up your neighbor’s fence then you are covered, but if you, a family member or pet destroys something of yours or has a mishap that is not covered. That is considered part of your health or medical insurance coverage.

This liability part of your policy pays for both the costs of court awards and defending you in court, up to the limit of your policy. You are also covered anywhere in the world, not just in your home.

Investing in Chinese Real Estate

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

I have mentioned before that I’m looking to invest in Chinese Real Estate, and after e-mailing and trying to contact my local embassy I’m pretty much stoked. It’s so tough getting good information (sometimes you just KNOW they’re trying to scam you on the first e-mail, it’s pretty amazing) and as I am investing my private funds I am pretty unsure about whether or not this idea of mine is even somewhat realistic… I know there’s money to be made — but is it worth the hassle and the risk for a non-Chinese speaking Westerner?

How to start looking for a house

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

We all know starting to look for a house is like walking into a liquor store and trying to find “a beer”. There’s too much choice in the real estate market and that makes things difficult.

Every once in a while companies try to simplify things and give people advice on how to start their search…

I myself am looking to invest in Chinese real estate and got this e-mail from a company I contacted to do some prospecting… Funny enough to share! ;)

Buying a house is very responsible and you must be sure of your choice, because after that you won’t be able to change it. If you have made a decision to buy a house, you should start with following some successful tips. The best place to look for is Internet. There are many websites, which will offer you different houses with various prices and qualities. However, the big question is “how can you start looking for a house”?

The answer is consisted of finding answers of other 3 main simple questions:

  1. Where do you want to live?
  2. What is the exact place, which you are looking for, and what sort of house would you prefer?
  3. How much money can you spend on that house?

So, first you have to make a proper planning! This will promote you with painless searching and purchasing of a house or any kind of property. The groundwork is the most important and it will save you a lot of time and potential coming neuroses later. After you plan everything, you should find a real estate website or agent. They will provide you with the necessary information and will find you the house of your dreams!
